How Much Water Should We Really Drink?

Everyone knows how important water is to drink. But still 9 out of 10 people are chronically dehydrated every day. Since water is so prevalent in the human body that tells us how important it actually is for us to consume. We lose so much water every day through sweat, high temperatures and by drinking other drinks that actually dehydrate us. Things like soda and coffee and energy drinks dehydrate you when you drink them.

So when you are thirsty and you go to grab a cold soda or coffee you are actually dehydrating yourself more rather than quenching your thirst. These beverages actually tend to make you thirstier and you can never really get quenched. It is hard to cut out soda and coffee and caffeine altogether but if you can drink plenty of water throughout the day you can counter act the effects of these drinks. The suitable amount of water for a person to consume in one day is eight 8oz glasses of water a day. This is what you need not what is best for you.

The more water the better. Drinking plenty of water can help you with everything. When you are dehydrated you are more sluggish and you have much less energy. Headaches are another common symptom of dehydration, so with plenty of water you can help avoid headaches. Drinking plenty of water can also help with weigh toss because most of the time when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty. Water is also very helpful with stomach problems.

Our bodies need a sufficient amount of water to digest food. With enough water you will have an easier time digesting your food and you can help avoid acid problems. It is also very good for you skin. Most people notice a healthy glow after drinking a lot of water. This doesn't happen after a few glasses but after a few weeks of drinking enough water for your body you will see a difference in your skin. Water is also very good for you heart. One very important thing to remember is that by the time you are thirsty you are already starting to get dehydrated. So try to prevent yourself from getting thirsty and don't just drink water when you are.

It's good to develop a routing to make sure you get enough water. Think about having a glass in the morning and one with your meals and squeeze some in in between your meals as well. It is very important to give your body the fuel and energy it needs.
